Glow plugs- Replacing fuse, clearing codes, reset and check(Note this applies to a RHD Aust 2010 Forester diesel)Once glow plugs have been disconnected it's time to replace the fuse, reset anything lost and check. See photo below for the "SBF No. 9" (I assume Slow-Blow Fuse) 40A fuse.Time: Approx 10 minsProcedure: Ignition OFF. Remove the main fuse box (engine bay) cover. Locate and replace blown SBF No. 9 fuse (supplied fuse puller doesn't work here). Replace fuse box cover. Ignition on, start engine. Connect OBD-II interface, start OBD-II program, check and clear codes and check warning lights have gone out. Finish off by reprogramming the radio.Notes:
A competent auto-electrician should have the required fuses- little oblong type ones, 40A.
You need pliers with parallel jaws to pull the fuse. Narrow nose, CAREFULLY adjusted Vise-grips work.
My codes and warning lights had automatically cleared, no OBD-II clearing necessary.
This should give you back ABS, DSC/VSC and cruise control
